HSE University and Tinkoff have signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on the development of secondary education in Russia. The cooperation will be implemented as part of the ‘Developing intellectual competitions’ project within HSE University’s strategic development programme.
Accenture Branded Coworking Area Opens at HSE Graduate School of Business
The grand opening of a new coworking area at the HSE Graduate School of Business took place in February. The 395 sq m area was renovated and equipped in line with the most recent trends in creative study areas in partnership with Accenture, one of the business school’s strategic partners.

In August 2018, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science launched a Joint Department with SAS, a world leader in analytics software. The Department’s objective is to provide better training for future data experts. Faculty of Social Sciences Launches New Joint Seminar Series with New York University
In November 2021, HSE University’s School of Politics and Governance and the Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia (New York University) started a new partnership project that involves regular joint online seminars. Denis Stukal, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Deputy Director of the Institute for Applied Political Studies, has commented on the initiative.
HSE University Strengthens Ties with Netherlands in Agricultural Research and Education
On November 9, 2021, HSE University signed a memorandum of understanding with Wageningen University & Research, a major university in the Netherlands and one of the leading agricultural research institutes in the world. Participants of the signing ceremony included HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov, President of the Wageningen University & Research Executive Board Professor Louise Fresco, and Dutch Ambassador to Russia Gilles Beschoor Plug.
Young Russians Feel ‘Phubbed’ by Friends and Family
Researchers from HSE University, Saint Petersburg State University, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI), and Kostroma State University have analyzed data on internet addiction and ‘phubbing’ behaviour from the past decade. They found that more and more people are suffering from smartphone addiction. At the same time, situations in which communication is split into real and virtual formats are becoming part of everyday life, which is bad for our relationships. Although phubbing was found to be the new normal among young people, the respondents often feel like victims of phubbing and its negative consequences. The results are published in Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes.
